I just returned from a medical mission trip in a town called Nzara, in South Sudan. I worked for a mission hospital that runs on only donor funds. I was able to get back to the reason I became a pediatrician- to take care of the most vulnerable population of people in the world- our children. Over the next few months I'm going to share pictures and interviews with the strong and inspirational staff and friends and made at the hospital. Their grit and determination to care for the community despite the hardship and trauma of surviving life in a country that is economically burdened from war is awe inspiring.
